The Examiner, the Independent Voice of Southeast Texas, Features Gerald Duff's Latest Novel, Playing Custer

Contributing writer Kevin King discusses Playing Custer from a historical and literary perspective in The Examiner's July 16, 2015, published Entertainment section and online site. Mr. King's article quotes  the author on  the novel's multiple levels of meaning and his fascination with the event and and how it influences modern society over a century later. Mr. King writes:

"Duff depicts the historic events of Custer's Last Stand through the story of two men from the late 20th century--one white and one Native American--who travel together to the annual re-enactment of the battle at the Litte Bighorn National Monument battlefield. The story's theme, however, encompasses much more than the battle itself."
